Ok so I keep saying that I want to stream again and I know, it’s like get on and do it already! Trust me that’s how I feel too. So at some point soon-ish I’ll be ripping that bandaid and then just go from there. There’s always going to be something “need to do” that could prevent me from going live. But reality all the “1”s are just about there. Everything else is 2+, in terms of needed for launch day.

My last “1” is setting up OBS. Some of the 2’s etc were getting some quick overlays made (already done). The Twitch About page needed an update (also done). I made some new headers that I thought came out pretty cute! Not too bad for some 30m in Photoshop while in a webinar. (That short attention span stemming from going to bed late and not sleeping well.) Anyway, check them out! You can see them in action on my Twitch Channel. Do take note that if you aren’t using dark mode they’ll look different but

Also took into account that not everyone runs in dark mode, weirdos <3. So did factor that into the design by making them a transparent png, so it’s actually the same image doing twice the work.

Discord

As you can see, Discord got a banner on my channel. I feel as though I finally got the server setup the way I want, it might be overboard for an almost inactive server lol, but I had fun learning and trying new things!

There’s no free leveling bot that I can find so I had to make my own on https://botghost.com/ but it’s working! I may need to adjust some of the values for point accrual for leveling but I’m going to hold off for more users to participate in order to get a better idea.

In the meantime, how does it work? Well, this is an “old people” server. I heard that if you’re over 30 you’re old now.. Whatever. I’m looking for adults, 21+. I’m not here to baby sit so you know stay on my good side and out of trouble. … Anyways, you onboard to acquire a role that gets you access to Dove’s Nest, the community aspect of the server (beyond Server Announcements and my stream announcements etc.). This role also gives you the ability to role up and gain access to more categories and channels. In which each game has its own dedicated voice channel. As you level up you’ll also be able to use external emojis and other things (Dove’s already forgotten what exactly and if you’ve worked with Discord Permissions yk yk).

Schedule

I’d love to be able to say I have a consistent schedule ready to go. Unfortunately, this is one of the things that has been preventing me from moving forward as my schedule isn’t exactly in my control. I’m passionate about my knitting and Chief Everything Officer for that, in addition to this site and the associated socials for it. I’d love to say that both will grow and maybe support me so I don’t have to work for corporate again. But until that happens I am job hunting and it has gotten in the way of my “maybe next Tuesday”… nope job fair. Maybe.. nope. lather, rinse, repeat. So one day, when it’s the thing it will happen and like I mentioned before, go from there. It won’t be perfect but that’s part of my brand. I have to keep that element of surprise otherwise I’m just a boring person. :P
